    Going international is not romance about foreign accents. It is a bigger pool of people who are ready at the same time you are, which is the variable that actually decides whether something works. Our European candidates are interviewed and verified exactly like the American ones, and they know upfront that the person they are being introduced to lives in California.

    Distance sounds like the obstacle. In practice the obstacle is usually somebody in Mission Bay who cannot say what they want.

    Plenty of members want a partner who is already in the same time zone - someone to have dinner with on a Tuesday, not a monthly flight. When that is the brief, your matchmaker sources locally: the city, the Peninsula, Marin, the East Bay. Not from a database sitting on a shelf, but by going and finding people who are not looking on apps.

    Do you only introduce people who live in the Bay Area?

    No. We start with the international network - Europe first, plus members in London, Zurich, Vienna and New York - because that is where the fit usually is for our San Francisco members. When someone wants the search kept local, we run it locally across the city and the Peninsula. Both, if that is what you ask for.

    Why would a search outside the Bay Area work better?

    Because the local pool at this level is small and thoroughly interconnected, and a lot of it has already dated a lot of the rest. Widening the search geographically usually widens it on the things that matter more - values, timing, how someone thinks about family - rather than just adding names.

    How does a long-distance introduction actually start?

    With a private video call, arranged by your matchmaker at a time that survives a nine-hour difference. Both sides are briefed beforehand. If it goes well, the two of you decide where and when to meet in person, and we help with the logistics rather than dictating them.

    I travel constantly. Does that break the process?

    It usually helps. Members who are in Europe every few weeks for work end up meeting people during trips they were taking anyway. Your matchmaker plans introductions around your travel calendar instead of asking you to add anything to it.

    My name is searchable. How is that handled?

    Nothing about you is listed anywhere. Your name is disclosed to a potential match only with your explicit approval and after an NDA is in place. That matters more here than in most cities, because a cap table and a dinner reservation tend to reach the same group of people.

    Who are your Bay Area members, roughly?

    Mostly founders, early operators, engineers and investors between 30 and 45, living in the Marina, Hayes Valley, Pacific Heights, Noe Valley, or down the Peninsula. Many arrived here for work in the last decade and never built the kind of social circle that produces introductions on its own.

    How is this different from the Silicon Valley page?

    The Silicon Valley page is about the founder and investor tier down the Peninsula, where discretion drives almost everything. This one is about the city itself, and about running the search internationally when the local pool is not producing the right person.
