Dallas-Fort Worth isn't attracting one industry — it's attracting all of them. CBRE's count puts DFW as the No. 1 metro in the country for corporate headquarters relocations since 2018, with more than 100 companies moving in, and it held that title again in 2025 with more net interstate and international HQ moves than any other U.S. metro. What's arriving isn't just tech: finance, energy, healthcare, logistics, manufacturing and professional services are all part of the mix, and Uptown has become known locally as the city's financial epicenter as a result. The public companies headquartered here are now worth a combined $1.5 trillion or so — roughly double what they were five years ago.

That mix matters for who you'd actually meet here. Unlike a city built around one industry, Dallas's newly arrived executives come from finance, energy, real estate, aviation and consumer brands as much as tech, and tend to land first in a handful of specific neighborhoods — Highland Park, University Park and Preston Hollow among them.

It also makes the dating picture here a genuinely mixed one. Dallas has the highest share of never-married singles of any big city in Texas — 45.8% of residents, per Census-based data. At the same time, independent rankings haven't been kind to the dating scene itself: a 2025 national singles-city study placed Dallas near the middle of the pack, marked down for a below-average singles population relative to the metro's size and a nightlife and entertainment scene local press has openly called subpar for a city this large. There's no shortage of single professionals here. The scene built around meeting them just hasn't kept pace with how many of them there actually are.
